Managing Share Bathrooms
The current Public Health Order does not expressly prohibit the use of shared bathrooms in an accommodation setting. The overarching obligation is set out at Part 4 (section 8(1)(c)) which states that an occupier/operator of premises must not allow persons to stay on the premises if the size of the premises is insufficient to ensure there is 4 square metres of space for each person on the premises.
In terms of cleaning protocols for shared bathrooms, please check out NSW Health for guidance.
